Verify that the Rear-Facing Level Reference Line appropriate for the child’s weight is parallel to the ground as shown in Figure 115. If using with an infant under 22 lb (10 kg), position the seat with the more reclined Reference Line (top line) parallel to the ground. If using with an older child who is over 22 lb (10 kg), position the seat with the more upright Reference Line (bottom line) parallel to the ground.
To increase the recline angle, reposition the Foonf closer to the vehicle seat back, then press down in the back of the seat cushion area while tightening the vehicle or UAS (LATCH) belt.
To decrease the recline angle, reposition the Foonf further away from the vehicle seat back so that it is sitting more upright, then press down on the front edge of the seat cushion area while tightening the vehicle or UAS belt.
If an acceptable recline level cannot be achieved using the vehicle seat back adjustment, if vehicle owner’s manual allows multiple positions, it may be necessary to place a rolled towel or pool noodle under the foot end of the car seat to achieve an acceptable recline level.
