The REACT™ Safety System integrated into every Foonf convertible car seat protects your child much like the crumple zones in the cars we drive - one of the most effective innovations in automotive safety. Foonf's REACT Safety System actively reduces the forces transmitted to a child in a frontal collision. The Foonf delivers forward-facing safety performance comparable to that of a rear-facing car seat installation.
Shown above are the independent results of the forces measured during FMVSS213 crash testing for LATCH (UAS) installation.
- 1 year old is rear-facing. 3 and 6 year old are forward-facing.
- 6 year old forward-facing installation is with both LATCH (UAS) and vehicle belt.
1. Head Injury Criteria (HIC) is used to assess the probability of a head injury. HIC is determined using the resultant acceleration at the center of gravity of the head. The threshold limit is 1000.
2. Chest Accelerationis measured in Gs and is used to assess the probability of a chest injury. The threshold limit is 60 Gs.
The Clek Foonf convertible child seat has undergone rigorous dynamic crash testing, including:
- Compliance testing which is federally required and represents 98% of all real-world crashes.
- NCAP testing which simulates forces experienced in extreme crashes.
- Side-impact and other extensive due-care testing which tests conditions outside of compliance testing, such as structural integrity for maximum occupant weight and various installation positions, the effect of extreme temperatures, misuse conditions, etc.
Extended Rear-Facing
Designed to international best practice allowing for most kids to remain rear-facing until their fourth birthday.
Anti-Rebound Bar
Prevents rebounding when rear-facing in a frontal collision and rotation in a side-impact collision; while also improving installation by nesting firmly and evenly into the flat part of the vehicle seat
Built Like a Tank
Engineered with a steel and magnesium sub-structure.
Advanced Side-Impact Protection System
Protects the child with its adjustable headrest, deep side wings, and dual layers of energy absorbing EPP foam for maximum side-impact protection.
Rigid-LATCH allows for an effortless forward-facing installation that can be done correctly (in seconds) that is so easy and so secure, you'd swear its part of your vehicle.
What sets Foonf apart?
• Rebound bar provides 1-2 inches of extra legroom for the rear-facing child as they grow.
• Removable seat cushion makes the rear-facing belt path easy to access. The cushion can come off without having to uninstall the seat, so it's easy-to-clean.
• Built-in rear-facing lock-offs improve ease of use by tensioning and removing excess slack from belt.
• Adjustable crotch strap and 6 different harness heights provide for a flexibility in adjustment to fit a wide range of sizes and ages of children.
• Comes standard with both the anti-rebound bar and rear-facing wedge.
• Meets or exceeds all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS213)
• Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children between the ages of 1 and 14 in North America.
• The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children ride rear-facing as long as possible, preferably until they reach the limits of their rear-facing convertible seat.

Made with pride in Ontario.
We design car seats that we use for our own kids. That's why we became the first car seat company to remove brominated and chlorinated flame retardants from our car seats in 2014. In 2018, we introduced the world's first convertible car seats and booster seats made without any added flame retardants, featuring ethically sourced 100% Merino wool.
Car seats are required to meet the most stringent automotive fire-safety standards.
As part of Clek’s ongoing commitment to continuously improve its environmental profile, we are sourcing materials that use non-halogenated flame retardants or, where possible, alternative materials that don’t use any known flame retardants, while still complying with fire-safety standards.
Chemical testing is conducted by accredited third-party labs on major components and results show that:
• Our jersey knit fabrics, along with the foam laminated to the backside of the fabric, are free from halogenated (brominated and chlorinated) flame retardants, while still meeting the federally-required automotive fire-safety standards.
• Railroad, along with the foam laminated to the backside of the fabric, is free from any added known flame retardants, while still meeting the federally-required automotive fire-safety standards.
• Our Standard C-Zero Plus and Tailored C-Zero Plus fabrics are GREENGUARD Gold Certified, meaning they meet stringent chemical emissions requirements, have been screened for various volatile organic compounds, and, along with the foam laminated to the backside of the fabric, are free from halogenated (brominated and chlorinated) flame retardants, while still meeting the federally-required automotive fire-safety standards.
• The fabrics used on our wool editions are made of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified 70% Merino Wool/30% TENCEL® and, along with the foam laminated to the backside of the fabric, are free of any added known flame retardants, while still meeting the federally-required automotive fire-safety standards.
The other major components (foam, harnesses, plastics) tested are free of any added known flame retardants, while still meeting the federally-required automotive fire-safety standards.
The chemical screening is based on known flame retardant chemical compounds, as well as general screening for halogens and other chemicals used in flame retardants. The results show that none are detected in concentrations that would indicate the use of such flame retardants.
Our Essentials Fabric Collection features the all-new Railroad, free of ANY added flame retardants with a sleek look that's soft to the touch.
Our Performance Fabric Collection features C-Zero Plus Performance Fabrics by Crypton®, which are GREENGUARD Gold Certified and provide resistance to odour causing bacteria and water-based stains using an innovative fluorine free formula. C-Zero Plus Performance fabrics are also free of brominated and chlorinated flame retardants, and offer a moisture barrier to further improve its cleanability and durability over
the years.
Our Premium Fabric Collection features Mammoth, an environmentally-friendly blend of sustainably-sourced, biodegradable Merino wool + TENCEL® that offers improved durability and is free of any added flame retardants.
TENCEL® is a trademark of Lenzing AG.
